Sponsorships

Sponsorships

Sponsorships normally help about one-third of the children in the Development Centre.  The parents of these children are usually unemployed, employed seasonally, casually, or not at all.  Before any child can be part-sponsored our General Manager, with her Deputy, visits the home to assess the situation. If she is satisfied that a sponsorship is warranted, she makes a recommendation to the management committee.  If they approve, the child joins the sponsorship programme.

Sponsorships can be paid monthly (R80), quarterly (R240) or annually (R960).

In reality, with the cost per child being R7500  per annum in 2017 we realise we are asking for only part sponsorship for a child.  However, there is no limit to the size or number of sponsorships and we encourage this form of giving.   From the UK, sponsorship including regular giving can be handled through Gift Aid.  Donors should make their wishes clear on the Donation Form in the Message box on the Donate page

Should you wish to sponsor a child you may contact us via the General Manager:-
