Stage one of the programme commenced in August for completion in December. This work is for the creation of 2 new classrooms for the 3 to 5 year old children. This will allow the number of children in this age category to expand from 60 to 100.
The Jungle Gym was added in September 2015 and is part of the reorganisation and additions to the new playground.
Yomelelani originally had a very small corridor as a play area behind some of the older buildings but the total revision of the site has seen the play area move into an open and bright space which was previously unused. This ensures easier supervision and sun light when available!
Yomelelani is focussed on supporting early childhood development in Zwelihle on the outskirts of Hermanus in the western cape of South Africa.
Working closely with the community, municipality and supporting sponsors. Yomelelani is a school of currently 260 children including a creche, pre-school and grade R classes. We believe it has an exciting future.
