Management & UK Trust

Constitution and Governance.  

The school has a formal constitution.  It is a voluntary association constituted as a Community School with a legal personality.  The constitution provides for a Management Committee, which is elected annually, meets quarterly and is responsible for oversight of the school and its operations.  It comprises:

School Principal Mrs N Sonkwele (In attendance)

Book keeping and preparation of Management Accounts is outsourced to a local Accountancy firm which works closely with the General Manager and Treasurer.  The Annual Accounts are audited by an independent firm of Chartered Accountants.

 

The Yomelelani UK Trust – April 2023

The Trust was registered as a UK Charity in 2015.  The objective of the Trust is to raise money in support of Yomelelani and, where appropriate, other ECD’s in Zwelihle.  The Trust is not involved in the management of the School.  The current Trustees  are:

About Yomelelani

Yomelelani is focussed on supporting early childhood development in Zwelihle on the outskirts of Hermanus in the western cape of South Africa.

Working closely with the community, municipality and supporting sponsors.  Yomelelani is a school of currently 260 children including a creche, pre-school and grade R classes.  We believe it has an exciting future.
